Provincial News:

On Thursday evening (18th May 2017), accompanied by Brothers Ronnie Gemmill, Allan Baker and George Preston and also by Mrs. Sandra Lindsay, I attended the annual Art Exhibition and prize giving ceremony at Linlithgow Academy and assisted in the presentation of the Provost Kenneth L. Lindsay Trophy for Artistic Excellence which was handed to this year's winner, Cairistonia Cockburn, by Mrs. Lindsay.
The work of the students was a once again of an extremely high standard as can be seen by the photo of the winner's work below.
The Trophy (which was donated by Brother David Forrest) and £100 prize money has been awarded annually since 2011 and,as can be seen by this message I received from Peter Scott, Principal Teacher of Art and Design, is very much appreciated.

"Hi Jim
Just to say thank you once again for the trophy and the prize gifts for Cairis and Libby they were extremely proud to receive their awards and it was a great night. It really helps us as a department to have your support for the students in place and it is a great opportunity for them to receive such a great trophy and accolade each year.
Thanks again and best regards
Peter"

Sad and Doleful Tidings:

Brethren, it is with very deepest of regret that I must inform you of the passing to the Grand Lodge Above of Brother Tom Chmylowskyj, Provincial Grand Chaplain. This is indeed a great shock to us all and our thoughts at this very distressing time must be with Tom's wife, June, and their son, Graham.
No words can express the utter feeling of loss which will be felt by many, many Brethren at Tom's passing.

Jim

"Now rest in sweet repose

thy dearly beloved brother"
