West Lothian Food Bank

Brethren,

it is most heartening and encouraging to read about the wonderful support which is being given by Lodges within this Province, and, indeed, other Provinces, during this difficult period of national crisis.

This support takes many different forms such as making contact through phone calls, shopping for and delivering groceries, donating sums of money and purchasing and donating goods on a wider scale.

I can now inform you that, in addition to the excellent efforts of the Lodges within the Province, Provincial Grand Lodge, after consultation with the current Commissioned Office-bearers and Past PGMs, has today purchased and delivered items of essential supplies to the West Lothian Foodbank on behalf of the Province.

I trust that this meets with your approval, Brethren.

The West Lothian Foodbank expressed absolutely delight with the PGL of Linlithgowshire for this “generous donation” and stated that it would “make a huge difference to the families who are using the Foodbank”, the numbers of which are increasing on a daily basis. (All goods in the accompanying photos were the donation.)

Grateful thanks is extended to the staff of the Livingston Lidl store for their very helpful assistance in purchasing the items.

Thanks must also be extended to Brother Tommy Walker, PG Secretary, and to Brother Kevin Taggart, IPM, Lodge Buchan St. John, No.636, for their efforts in successfully bringing this initiative to fruition.
